Based on the F-8 Crusader, the Corsair II was developed as a replacement for the A-4 Skyhawk, with greater range and payload. First fleet delivery of A-7s was October 1966 with final retirement in May 1991. This Corsair II wears the faded markings of VA-93 “Ravens” a unit that this aircraft served in during seven Vietnam deployments. Retired in 1977, this aircraft was added to the Planes of Fame Air Museum collection in 2007 and is displayed in the boneyard. Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
