Lindsay Lohan used to be a budding actress who caught her big break in the movie “Parent Trap.” At the time the movie came out (I was about ten years old), I had a small crush on her. She was this young actress who was making these interesting kid-friendly films (Freaky Friday). After her last decent movie came out (Mean Girls) the starlet has spiraled out of control. I can’t go one week without reading about another legal woe she has brought upon herself.
Yes, that is right. Lohan has brought this upon herself. I still don’t understand celebrities and their inability to hire drivers. At least from a legal perspective the girl can’t drive. So why put herself in that position where she can get into an accident? The answer is because she at least subconsciously is seeking help. Her parents, if you can even call them that, are opportunistic fame-whores. There doesn’t seem to be someone in her life that can bring Lohan back to reality. When Britney Spears had her meltdown, her father stepped in and took care of his ailing daughter. Spears has made a recovery, at least for the most part, from her ordeals.
Lindsay Lohan does not have that anchor in her life to guide her through this tumultuous time. If anything the best thing in her life was her ex-girlfriend DJ Samantha Ronson. I fear that if she doesn’t get her act together soon she may die an early age like Marilyn Monroe (someone the star greatly admires).
Lohan needs to be imprisoned for revoking her probation. How many chances can one person get? It is quite ridiculous how she continues to get second chances. If she wasn’t a celebrity she would have been imprisoned after her first offense. She needs to go to a jail and spend about 6 months for her crimes. I hope that unlike so many L.A. jailhouses she isn’t released after ten minutes because of overcrowding. She needs to understand the consequences of her actions, because she so clearly does not.
Secondly, it is reported that the starlet not only has a drinking problem but at times a substance abuse problem. She needs to go to rehab after being released from jail. Only after all these measures have been undertaken will she get the “wake-up call” she needs to get her act together. Now you may ask why I should care about what happens to her. Honestly, I feel sorry for her. She seemingly has had no parental figure in her life to lean on when times get tough.
After about year away from the limelight I think she can pursue acting once again if she so chooses to. She was after all a decent young actress at one point. Plus she needs to make better decisions because I didn’t have to watch Lifetime’s “Liz and Dick” to know her performance was atrocious.
I really hope she gets her act together.
What do you think?
Does she need to go to jail?
Do you even care?
