Story: Lift starts when master thief Cyrus (Hart) and his team Denton (D’Onofrio), Camila (Corbero), Magnus (Magnussen), Mi-Sun (Kim) and Luke (Kalra) complete their latest job. However, Interpol agent Abby (Mbatha-Raw) tracks down the team. She uses her former fling with Cyrus to get the team to complete an even more difficult job in exchange for their freedom.
The job sees Abby joining Cyrus’ team as they look to complete a heist in mid-flight. They are assigned to steal from a deadly criminal Jorgensen (Reno). However, the job has the challenges they need to overcome as they risk their lives for success.
Verdict on Lift
Lift is an action comedy following an Interpol agent teaming up with her former fling and master thief on a job. They must put together a heist involving stealing from a deadly criminal during a heist that must happen mid-flight.
This is an entertaining action comedy, it uses the idea of two sides of the law to team together. The team has their own typical personalities which brings gentle comedy to the film. However, it never overstays its welcome and keeps the tension the main entertainment.
We have a great cast, where Kevin Hart doesn’t turn to his comedy which often can get annoying. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is always delightful to see in roles and she handles herself perfectly throughout the film. Vincent D’Onofrio and Billy Magnussen bring the best comedy in the movie. while the rest of the international cast entertains with the roles.
