Today I wanted to share something that I don’t often (if ever?!) write about on my blog – which is about some beauty products that I like!

Brown lIPSTICK
Brown lipstick is my latest “thing.” A nice option for a bold lip that is not one of the more traditional reds, berries or hot pinks. Even though I am naturally more drawn to light, bright colours, I was happy to find a darker look that I enjoy, especially for this half of the year. The color is a gorgeous chocolate brown, and of course you can apply a thicker coat for a deeper, darker look.
Here, myself and two girlfriends of mine are all wearing the same lipstick, each of us with different shades of skin tones. I think this lipstick colours differently on each of us, but definitely suits darker complexions too.
Do I need to explain the braids? Is that weird?
Top: Smashbox Always Sharp Lipliner Shocking Pink
(I took a photograph of myself wearing the pink lipliner but unfortunately I don’t feel like the color in the photograph is true to life. I’ll try again some other time. )
Bottom: Smashbox Always Sharp Lipliner Nude Medium
Nude Lip Liner
My other “thing” has been using lipliner all over my lip. Where have you been all my life?
I loved the Smashbox self-sharpening lipliners. The color is rich and creamy, and is so long-wearing! I have been looking for a long time for the perfect nude color to suit my indian complexion, without making me looked washed out or like I was severely dehyrdated. I realized that I should go for medium-nudes, nudes with a hint of brown and dusky pink mixed into it.
….But after a week of use, my beloved nude lipliner broke and there doesn’t seem to be a way to save it.The flaw lies in the product design. There’s just no way to get it out again. I am saddened by this :(
Contour Kit
Smashbox Contour Palette (Deep contour, terracotta bronze, warm highlight)
The Smashbox contour kit came in two sets, a lighter and a deeper collection.
These colours are so flattering for tan-skin tones, especially the central terracotta shade. This set contained deeper tones, and are quite pigmented, so you don’t need very much product on your brush.
The result.
When I turned 25 I decided it was time to invest in anti-aging products, not because I am afraid of aging, but I would like to give my growing skin what it needs *Big grin*.
I have been using the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme and their Advanced Night Repair which makes my skin feel dewy and plump.
You see, I also wanted to start building my “Classic” beauty collection. I love the way it looks; golden and glamorous. I have been doing periodic clear-outs, in anticipation for May 2016 when I graduate and finally move back to Canada to my husband! And honestly, I have been clinging onto items that I have dragged around with me for the last 6 years or more, that I rarely use/wear. It feels good to let that go.
Having less is becoming more important to me, so I want what I do have to be chosen with care and love.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you enjoyed this different style of post by me.
You may have also noticed that I have made some small changes to the design of this blog. My about-me section was under construction for a the few days, but I have finally updated it, so feel free to go over and read more. I know that when I stumble upon a blog I’m enjoying, I like to know more about the person behind the blog. So, there you go!
Have a happy weekend. I am so glad it is the weekend!
Love,
Malavika
