Life Lately

By Winyeemichelle
Oh HO has it been busy around Chez Chai lately! In between torrential downpours that make me terrified to leave the house and being (happily) up to my eyeballs with work, I’ve hardly had time to sit down and pen a blog post. In fact, I only managed one post last week which might be a record low since I began writing Daisybutter seven years ago. I’m usually pretty great at finding time to share a handful of posts on here but that just wasn’t the case this week just gone.

Work work work

Work has been pretty good to me lately despite my last Sundaze post saying otherwise! That’s always the way, isn’t it? I can’t complain though, my current mix of clients are great and I’m finally feeling like things might just be going my way. I’m also on the verge of launching my new business website which is awfully exciting! It’s looking good so far and I can’t wait to share it with you all, even if it is a little far away from blogging realms. I started with a new client last week as well and I can’t even begin to tell you how great it is to work in a new environment once a week. Here’s to new things!

A little family trauma

A week or so ago, we had a little family trauma. My brother crashed his car (skidded in the rain, rolled it three times and was saved from rolling into a lake by a snapped tree) and it completely shook us up. I picked him up and was told he was lucky to be alive and yet he was totally unscathed, not a button out of place or single mark on his suit. Strangely enough, when he landed back upright(!!), his blessed Buddhist monk card fell out from his glove compartment. I’ll never forget that. It’s been an odd few weeks here but we’re all so glad that he’s fine and I’m feeling very thankful for whatever saved him.

High School Musical night!

On Friday night, Jazz, Fern, Amber, Emily and I descended upon The Clapham Grand for a High School Musical party! We had the best time sipping Gabriella’s Party Punch, eating halloumi burgers and too many nachos, as well as singing along to the film. I’m not much of a going out-out girl but this was easily one of the best nights out of my year so far - who can resist nachos, Troy Bolton and bonus Taylor Swift afterwards?

A mini Harry Potter marathon

Harvey and I spent the weekend eating great food (salt and pepper chilli tofu amirite?!) and watching the two Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films. I can’t quite believe he hadn’t seen the final part but we’ll skip over that because he loved it. I always forget just how much I adore Harry Potter until I listen to the score but it’s sparked me to reread the books again. Only my second reread of 2017…!
