Liam Gallagher has shared ‘One of Us’, the fourth song to be released from his second solo album ‘Why Me? Why Not?’ (pre-order here). A song ‘about family, friendship and a sense of belonging’, it features Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs on guitar and Liam’s song Gene on bongos.
It opens with a tinge of psychedelia that soon veers into more of a gospel sound as Liam promises ‘you will see me on the other side’ and examines what will happen if you ‘keep me hanging on to the old life’. There’s also a cheeky nod to Liam’s old band which is sure to delight the masses when he sings this slow-burning anthem live: ‘You said we’d Live Forever. Who do you think you’re kidding?’
