Anyway, the news is that LG Electronics, India, has launched a smartphone equipped with the 'Mosquito Away Technology.' LG already has the Mosquito Away TV and AC. Now, they have added the anti-mosquito ability to a smartphone too.
This brand new and anti-mosquito smartphone by LG is K7i. Here are its highlights:
The Mosquito Away Technology:
LG K7i keeps the mosquitoes away using sound waves at Ultrasonic frequency. The reasoning behind this is that the mosquitoes don't like this sound frequency and stay away. The phone uses no radiation or chemicals to keep the mosquitoes away. So, its mosquito-away technology is safer than other common mosquito repellents. The Ultrasonic sound can't be heard by humans. So, for the users, this technology is silent, unobtrusive and odorless. In short, when activated, the Mosquito Away feature will disturb the mosquitoes, but not the humans.
Appearance:
The Mosquito Away grill at the back gives it a unique look. But other than that, the phone has nothing to boast about in terms of appearance. The rounded edges of the back panel make it comfortable to hold. But it is not a slim phone, considering current standards.

Besides the Mosquito-Away technology, LG K7i is packed with a decent set of specifications too, considering its price of INR 7,990. However, it runs on Android Marshmallow, which is outdated now. The phone has enough muscle to give a stable performance and meet the smartphone needs of the budget-conscious buyer.

Overall, LG K7i has a decent set of specifications, but nothing to boast of in terms of looks. The Mosquito Away Technology is its biggest highlight. I haven't tried this device so I can't really say how effective this technology is. There are several free Android apps available too that promise to keep the mosquitoes away. So the unique selling point of the phone isn't very unique either. But if you live or work in a locality infested with mosquitoes, and if you are looking for a good quality, good brand smartphone below the price of Rs. 8000, LG K7i is worth checking out.
