LG Electronics, one of the largest manufacturers of electrical products in the world, is seeking chief technical officers (CTOs) to lead the company’s expanding Web3 sector, according to its official website.
The electronics industry titan is seeking CTOs for its business development and service design departments.
The former will build connections with multinational Web3 companies and launch new Web3 and blockchain companies. In addition to designing and developing decentralized applications (dApps), it is planned that this organization will do research on blockchain and Web3 services.
The posts require knowledge of non-fungible token (NFT) utility and blockchain technology.
In a formal declaration issued in February, LG Electronics outlined its future business ambitions, which include the development and distribution of blockchain-based technology as well as the trading and brokerage of digital currency.
In September, LG Electronics introduced Wallypto, a decentralized bitcoin wallet. Wallypto employs the Hedera Hashgraph distributed ledger.
During the third quarter of 2022, LG Electronics reported total sales of approximately $15 billion, according to a press release.
The term “Web3” refers to the development of a decentralized internet based mostly on the blockchain technology that underpins cryptocurrencies.
