LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LG

By Annamoss84 @missanniebean
Once again I was at London Fashion Week for the latest collections from the designers for AW14, and once again I was collaborating with LG to review not only one, but four top designers showcasing at the BFC Somerset House catwalk. The first one on my list was the very expressive arts collections from the students at Central Saint Martins.LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGEvery London Fashion Week we get the chance to experience the potential talent of the future from the popular Fashion Design course at Central Saint Martins.  A course that boasts a gifted catalog of alumni including the likes of Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou to name only a few, it is no wonder there’s always a buzz.  Spotting the ones to watch and providing the opportunity to witness some of the UK’s finest fashion talent showcase their creations, it truly is a 'must see' of fashion week.
LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGLFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGI’d once again had the privilege of reporting for LG and knowing that many past students have developed on to work with great companies and establish themselves as top designers I actually couldn’t wait.LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGLFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGA catwalk show that had such an eclectic mix of creations and inspirations, it was clear there was major talent amongst these young designers.   A show mainly built upon art and reflection it was interesting to see the diverse themes emerging with each collection.LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGLFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGThe very talented Michael Power and Ondrej Adamek both scooped the L'Oreal Professionel Creative Award, which was judged by none other than (alumni of Central Saint Martins) Christopher Kane. Michael Power showcased a lot of gothic rave inspired pieces, with long draping articles teamed with colourful tubing.  Michael's creations were very simple with colours but very eye catching and dramatic.  Ondrej Adamek delivered my favorite collection of the set, displaying a colourful range of shiny fabrics, soft edged shapes, gathered hems which happily drifted along the catwalk. LFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGLFW Central Saint Martins AW14 with LGEven though Power and Adamek stood out the most, there were other exciting designers, Drew Henry, Serena Gili, Graham Fan, Anita Hirlekar, and Fiona Blakeman.  Each designer offered something new and invigorating making the show not just a fashion show but a work of art.
What do you think of the collections?
Annie xoxo
