Let's Talk...Vintage

Hello Freckles Vintage Bomber Jacket ACDC Band TeeVintage shops are like a treasure cave; you can find something you've been looking for on the high street, without the inflated price tag and a sense of character to it. The same goes for charity shops too I guess, sometimes people cast aside barely worn sweatshirts and jackets that could be exactly what you'd been looking for, at a fraction of the price online!
So today, let's talk vintage. It doesn't have to be something from a shop, it could be an item that's stayed within your family; your grandma's jewellery, a special cup and saucer, or even something a bit bigger, some artwork perhaps.

Now, I like getting something new as much as the next person, hell I'll even pop into other high street retailers for a look and maybe I'll pick up the odd tee (I cannot justify buying something they claim is 'vintage' for £50+ when I could pick up the exact thing, a fraction of the price elsewhere) but something new, to you, doesn't have to mean, fresh from the packaging with a price tag still attached.

Think about the amount of times (if you're like me) you've bought a new lipstick, or socks and you've popped them away somewhere, only to rediscover them months later. They're still 'new' in a sense that you've not worn them, or that shade yet, but they're not 'new' in terms of what trend might be in fashion, or which shades you should be wearing this season.

I don't have a lot of vintage pieces in my wardrobe; an AC/DC tee that was my Dad's from the 80's, a green bomber that my sister acquired from a local shop, and perhaps a few other pieces here and there. If there's one trend I don't seem to be getting tired of, it's sweatshirts and there's a tonne of vintage ones on Rokit to browse through, along with dungarees, bomber jackets and more. I think on my next trip to London I may have to pop into a store, but until then, I'll happily browse online.

What're your thoughts on vintage? Is there anything you've picked up from a store that you're particularly fond of? Or perhaps something you've acquired from family/friends?
