It’s Friday. Again. I’m not sure why this keeps surprising me each week, but it does.
Our wedding anniversary is coming up and while we usually can’t do much to celebrate (one doesn’t celebrate when one has 6 young kids at home) today we have reservations for a little place in Mason, NH called Pickity Place.
It’s a charming little restaurant, tucked in the woods, that houses a wooden cabin once used in the illustrations for “Little Red Riding Hood.” The place is all about fresh herbs, seasonal food and atmosphere. They have one menu each month (you have a choice of a vegetarian or non-vegetarian entree) and the restaurant is always packed (in fact tour buses stop by there on occasion.)
For those of you who are in to this type of thing, here’s today’s menu:

Vegetable Dip
Creamy Tomato with Avocado Oil Drizzle
End of Season Corn Cole Slaw
Italian Oval
Daily Catch En Pappilotte Pressed with Fresh Herbs

Collard Greens Stuffed with Tri-Colored Quinoa
Smashed Beets with Dill Greek Yogurt
Native Blueberry Napoleon
Not too shabby, eh? And most of this is gluten and dairy free – but diet or not, nothing is going to keep me away from a Native Blueberry Napoleon!
So I’m going to log off early today. Thanks all for your comments about the Lyme journey, I’ll continue to keep you updated. Had a small hic-cup last night when because of schedules I ended up taking my antibiotics at 11:30 right before bed.
In a word DON’T.
