Friday’s Quotes for the Chicks
“Happy Mother’s Day“
Every greeting card in the world on May 12th.
When you have 6 kids, Mother’s Day is a very big day in the house. It’s a morning of breakfast pre-made (which has varied over the years from gummy worms, cereal that has been sitting in milk for an hour waiting for me to wake up, and in the more recent years, pancakes, eggs, and bacon.)
The kids give me cards and (usually) let me read in the sun as they attend to my every need.
Need more water, Mom?
Sure thing, thanks, I say as I put the glass by the 4 other glasses of water given to me by my other little chicks.
Mother’s Day is the one day of the year when us Mama hens get a tiny break. Bickering is kept to a minimum and we receive rare thanks and acknowledgement from our too often surely teens. But all too quickly it ends, and we start thinking about who needs showers and whether or not the homework has been done.
Happy Mother’s Day to those in the flock who have the honor and privilege to guide their chicks.

As always, peaceful weekend everyone, health and happiness (and safety) to your flock.
