My kids love nothing more than to take my phone and go through my photos. It’s a way for them to see what it is in the world that catches my eye. Often they’ll ask me to tell them stories about the photos, where did I take that? When did this happen? Why is this here?
Usually when they take my phone, they also end up taking a few photos of their own. At the end of the week, when I scroll through my photos to see what I can use and what should be discarded, I usually find some surprises.
Like this one.

That’s a nice shot of the low sun when we went to pick up my soccer player after practice. Kind of bitter sweet, it’s getting darker sooner, winter is coming.

Apparently I’m not the only one playing with Lego Mama Hen. No worries, it’s all good.
It’s been a busy first week with the kids back at school. (which included a torrential rain storm, just as they got off the bus to come home on the first day.)

The house is quieter, the flock is definitely missing it’s biggest members. The kids are adjusting to their old schedules (early up, to bed sooner, and what is this thing called homework?) Likewise, I’m back to my schedule. To-do lists have been dusted off, long over-due tasks have been methodically crossed off, and articles have been written and submitted. (Here’s one that went up on Grit.)
All around, it’s been a good first week.
