A few years ago, my mother and I went to London to see the West End Show ‘Les Misérables’.

In the first half hour I was whispering to my mother, ‘this is awful, I can’t believe you brought me here to watch this, I’d far rather be watching ‘Grease’ or ‘Mama Mia’….and by the end of the first interval, I had the kleenex out and was blubbering like a big baby!

Originally Les Mis was a novel written by Victor Hugo. The entire musical is based on the ex-convict Jean Valjean. The show lasts around 2 and a half hours with an interval in the middle. It is the second longest-running musical in the world and I can understand why.

If anyone is heading to London this Winter for vacation, this is a must to watch. It really is epic! You can find tickets at Picadilly Circus at many of the Theatre Booths (note tickets are around 50kd but so worth it) or next to the Oreon Theatre in Leicester Square.

My favourite song from the musical.
