LeEco Launches Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 in China

While everyone in technology domain was talking about how Apple is planning to pull curtains to 3.5MM analog audio input and how the next iPhone will not feature the audio input jack. LeEco, the Chinese Tech company owned by a Multi-Billionaire Jia Yueting, has beaten Apple to the race. LeEco,today launched 3 new devices as successors to their already very successful lineup, Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 without a 3.5mm audio input.

These phones are priced aggressively at 1099 RMB (approximately Rs 11,300), 1499 RMB (approximately Rs 15,400) and 2500 RMB (approximately Rs 25,500) respectively. All three phones feature a full metal body design and  now come with the new LeEco logo instead of LeTv logo.

Le 2 is a successor of Le 1s, which has been highly successful in the Indian market since its launch. It comes with a 5.5″ 1080p screen. It uses a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The OS is Android 6.0 with EUI 5.5.

The LeEco Le 2 has a 16MP main camera and an 8MP selfie cam. This front camera has a large 1.4µm pixels. It comes with a fingerprint sensor, 3,000mAh battery with fast charge and audio over USB Type-C. The LeEco Le 2 is the cheapest of the three devices at CNY 1,100 ($170/€150/Rs 11,237).

This device also has a 5.5 inches screen 1080p screen and comes with a MediaTek Helio X25 processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. It runs Android 6.0 with EUI 5.5 on top of it. It has a slightly better rear camera 21MP with Sony IMX230 sensor with phase detection AF, plus the 8MP front cam. For the connectivity it has dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and, yes, USB Type-C, while the battery is 3,000mAh with fast charging.

This phone features LeEco’s  CDLA – Continual Digital Lossless Audio technology, which produces lossless audio out of the Type-C port. The fingerprint reader is housed on the back of the device.

The LeEco Le 2 Pro will cost CNY 1,500 ($230/€205/Rs 15,327). Connectivity is similar to the Max 2, while the battery is 3,000mAh with fast charging.

LeEco Le Max 2

LeEco Le Max 2 is a monstrous device that packs 64GB internal storage and a mammoth 6GB ram. It comes with a with a 5.7″ QHD screen (1,440 x 2,560px) and a “true” Snapdragon 820. The phone runs a current Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.5 on top of it. It has 2 variants for storage, 32GB with 4 GB ram and 64GB one comes with 6GB RAM.

The rear camera on this device is a 21MP snapper with Sony IMX230 sensor and comes with optical image stabilization, f/2.0 aperture, and phase detection AF. There is an 8MP front camera on the device.

As rumoured earlier, the LeEco Le Max 2 uses ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology by Qualcomm’s . It also features Quick Charge 3.0 for its 3,100mAh battery. On the connectivity side, there’s dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and, yes, USB Type-C.

The LeEco Le Max 2 will costCNY 2,100 ($325/€285/Rs 21,500 ) for the 3GB/32GB version and CNY 2,500 ($385/€340/Rs 25,500) for the 6GB/64GB model.

These phones will be available for pre-order in China starting today and will be going on sale starting from April 26th. There is no official words as yet for India launch as yet, however, we hope that the devices will reach in India by July 2016.
