LeBron Is Very Proud Of The School He’s Opening In His Hometown
LeBron James has made it clear that his charitable foundation’s most recent project is the most important thing he’s ever done. The Akron native said on Thursday, “It is. Besides having three kids and marrying my wife, putting my mom in a position where she never has to worry about anything ever again for the rest of her life, this is right up there. Championships, MVPs, I mean, points, rebounds and assists, that stuff is, whatever.”
The LeBron James Family Foundation is set to open the “I Promise School” in the fall, and it will be specifically for third and fourth graders in the Akron Public Schools system who are at risk of falling behind. The James foundation’s plan was approved unanimously by the Akron School Board this week, and on top of that, LeBron’s entertainment company will also be producing a documentary on the  opening of the school.
The mission with James’ foundation, since 2010, has been to improve reading skills and eventually graduation rates for children in Akron Public Schools. He has said time and time again that he wants to help children who faced the same challenges he did growing up. Shoutout to Bron for being so dedicated to helping his hometown grow!
