Plot: A young woman tries to find her origins after having been abandoned as an infant at a cemetery wrapped in a cloth with satanic symbols, but as she gets closer to answers a malevolent spirit is telling her to leave.

Story: Leave starts when Hunter (Rittberg) goes in search of her past. She knows she was abandoned as a baby and her trip takes her to Norway. Hunter is under the impression rockstar Cecilia (Petersen) is her mother, but a much darker story is revealed.

When Hunter gets to meet some of her distant family, her life changes. First, she is welcomed in, but a malevolent presence is warning her to leave. Can Hunter learn the truth about her past before it is too late?

Verdict on Leave

Leave is a horror mystery following a young woman who goes in search of answers about her birth parents. This sees her head to the beautiful backdrop of Norway as she meets her estranged family. However, not everything is what it seems within the family filled with dark secrets.

This is a nice horror mystery that gets to dive into an unexplained event. It takes the young woman to a new location she doesn’t know where she must learn about the events that led to her abandonment. This keeps us guessing as we meet plenty of people from her family. There is plenty of twists along the way, even though it follows the traditional concepts.

We do get strong performances from the whole cast. Alicia von Rittberg shines the most as the young woman trying to learn the truth.

Final Thoughts – Leave is a nice horror mystery but does lack scares along the way.
