The classic model of business selling (relationship building, dinners with big customers, baseball games, etc.) was overturned in the 2010s. New approaches such as internal sales have offered better leverage for salespeople, metrics better to track performance and a more secure funnel that has helped SaaS companies drive efficient revenue growth. Those foundations manifest directly in the markets: software companies have mostly survived the past few months and, in fact, have even thrived, generating higher valuations as investors flee to strong companies.

Now it looks like sales will be reinvented again in the 1920s. With social distancing, remote work, and massive economic calamities sweeping global business, can sales reinvent itself for what will almost certainly be a radically different decade? What strategies are the ticket to revenue growth this time around?

Since sales are the lifeblood of most business startups (and even some consumer startups these days), we wanted to make sure we have a great group of people with the deep experience to talk about what sales will look like in the future. And we're excited about who we're bringing together to talk more about building a sales team in the Extra Crunch phase of ProWellTech Disrupt 2020.

First, we have Brian Ascher, who is a partner of Venrock. Ascher has spent his two decades of career as a VC investor focusing on the sales market, supporting companies such as 6Sense, Socrates AI and Dynamic Signal. He'll bring his two-sided perspective to our discussion: how he advises the founders on building sales teams today, as well as talk about what the market for sales-focused software platforms looks like.

Next, we have Pete Kazanjy, a sales authority in Silicon Valley. Many founders learn about sales through his popular works like "Founding Sales" and his intense community building. In addition to all this leadership, he also founded his own company, Atrium HQ, which builds tools for sales teams to increase their performance.

Third and last, we have Jill Rowley, one of the early startups employed at corporate giants Salesforce and Eloqua who has since spent more than a decade leading and advising founders and executives on how to build a sales team and improve their performance. It brings extensive experience of all the different sales models and how they interact with each other.

Sales are no less important today, but the models are changing once again. It's imperative that startup founders adapt to the changing nature of the beast, and we're thrilled to have three experts providing a guide map. Also, as this is the Extra Crunch phase, we will be answering questions from the audience during the panel. Then come and interact with us and learn the secrets to the success of the sales team.

Disrupt 2020 will start tomorrow, September 14-18. Get your Digital Pro Pass to join this interactive session along with the rest of the in-depth content in the Extra Crunch phase.
