Le Monde celebrates new era with refurbishment
After thirteen years since it first opened, Le Monde held a party last night to celebrate their £1 million refurbishment. Mrs Foodie and Mr C went along to see what it was all about.
The George Street boutique hotel Le Monde now has a new look bar and restaurant which surely transports you away from the end of summer in Scotland and off to pastures new.
Through its George Street entrance lies a striking new semi-circular Laurent Perrier champagne bar, complete with marble bar top, crimson leather bar stools, and decadent velvet booths.
From here there is a newly tiled marble herringbone walkway which leads through to the light filled main bar and restaurant space.
The new small plate dining menu is inspired by favourite world flavours and made with locally sourced Scottish produce. We nibbled on delicious bites such as Garlic & lemon marinated artichokes and Aubergine bruschetta.
There's a selection of plates on the menu such as from the 'Land' Chorizo & manchego croquettes with a burnt pineapple & chilli ketchup; Serrano ham & stem broccoli with tarragon crème fraiche; and a selection of premium cut steaks sourced from renowned butcher John Gilmour.
Vegetarians and vegans are in for a treat with dishes including Spinach & cheddar croquettes with beetroot mayonnaise; Roast pepper & olive salad with feta. dukkah; and Beetroot textures with gremolata.
