There's nothing more interesting in decor than playing around with styles from different periods, like in the Stockholm apartment of artist and illustrator Mats Gustafson and jewelry and product designer Ted Muehling. Here they have exquisitely blended Scandinavian Modern furnishings with 19th-century family heirlooms and flea market finds to create a stunning Nordic retreat. They both told The New York Times Style Magazine that decorating is not about perfection, but rather a balanced layering of styles. Something they do extremely well.
