LAUTECH STRIKE: Students Threaten To Take Their Protest To Abuja

The students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho have said they will embark on one million students march to the Federal Capital Territory to protest against the ongoing strike in their school.

The students union leader, Comrade Abiodun Oluwaseun while addressing a press conference at the weekend in Ogbomoso said the incessant strikes in LAUTECH is beginning to have psychological effects on the students.

Oluwaseun said, "If the government continues to show lack of commitment and disrespect to the lives of over 35,500 students of the institution, we cannot but embark on a 1 million student march to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to show the entire world the callousness we suffer in the hands of the governors of Oyo and Osun whose priority ought to be building a brighter and formidable future for this nation but has decided to kill it instead".
LAUTECH students beg FG, Tinubu to intervene.

The students have also called on Federal Government and the institution's chancellor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to come to their aid.

According to Premium Times, the student union in LAUTECH has in a statement signed by its President, Abiodun Oluwaseun called on Bola Tinubu, describing his silence over the crisis as callous.

LAUTECH was established in 1990 by Oyo State and Osun State government. However, in the last few years, the university has been having one crisis or the other as academic and non-academic staff keep going on strike.
