Laura-Mary Carter – ‘Town Called Nothing’

Laura-Mary Carter (Blood Red Shoes) has shared ‘Town Called Nothing’, the title track from her forthcoming mini album – out on 3 December. Inspired by travels around the USA – and a visit to a genuine town in Arizona called Nothing with a population of 2 – the folk-tinged song finds Laura contemplating on the pull of a relationship that was always destined to fail. Produced by Ed Harcourt and clocking in at just over 2 and a half minutes. it’s a heartfelt and personal piece as Laura sings about falling for the sound of someone’s voice and keeping the motor running to ensure we ‘get to where we were going’. She then talks about trying to move on – ‘I tried to escape but you kept on coming to this town called Nothing’.
