Laundry Of Porto

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

Rua de Mouzinho da Silveira, Porto

This was the scene looking up along Rua de Mouzinho da Silveira in Porto, towards São Bento Railway Station. I wasn’t actually aiming for the laundry, I framed it this way because I wanted to photograph the person in the window but didn’t want to make it terribly obvious. Maybe it was, anyway.

I’m starting a new series for the blog, interviewing local people of Porto. The interviews will be posted in both Portuguese and English. Stay tuned.

On a related note, I was quoted last week in the Portuguese newspaper Público. They published an article mentioning my comments on the state of Casa Oriental at the beginning of last year, which I wrote about in April.

Público: Porto Paralelo contou a história de 55 lojas tradicionais – 13 já fecharam (March 20, 2017)

Of course, it’s in Portuguese, but you can read my original words in the post here: Porto’s Casa Oriental in 2016.
