Nowadays, we live a very instantaneous life. We call and see people on the other side of the world in a matter of seconds. We can travel all over the world in hours. And thanks to Elon Musk, we may live on a different planet soon.
Every company out there advertising to us seeks the exact same thing. McDonald's, Facebook, Google or Apple - they all want the same thing...
Your attention!
This is the main goal because once they have your attention, they have countless ways to influence you into doing what they want - perhaps buying their products or simply entering your email address so that they can hassle you over and over again until you buy.
We have seen advertising evolve over the years from newspapers and billboards to radio and TV and finally to the digital world.
Every few years, a new advertising platform is discovered or created. Even within the same platform like Facebook, advertising has evolved from the right column to news feed ads, then video ads, and most recently to search ads.
Because we get used to the advertising method and over time develop blindness to ad placement. Most advertising companies die very quickly because they fail to adapt and evolve.
Facebook and Google, however, have been digital marketing leaders for years now, and I do not see them going down any time soon.
This brings us to a new advertising platform that very few people are using now called Push Notifications or Push Ads.

Chapter 1: Introduction To Push Ads
Unless you live under a rock, you have likely seen at least one form of Push Ads.
Push Ads are pretty much any notification you receive on your mobile phone through an app or on your desktop through a browser like Chrome. However, not all of these notifications are important or wanted.
Some are paid advertisements by an app where you can opt-in to receive notification of all their ads too.
To make this idea easier to understand, I will discuss the two forms of Push Notifications in greater detail.
Desktop Notification
There are various browsers that provide a notification function. We will focus only on Chrome today because it has around 63% market share worldwide as of June 2019.
In the Chrome desktop, it looks something like this:
There are probably hundreds of millions (if not billions) notifications sent by Chrome every month, and this number is increasing every day.
You should start using desktop notification Push Ads for your business before it is too late!
Native App Notification
You get these notifications on your mobile phone probably tens of times every day - from meeting reminders to email notification to pick up your kids or...the list goes on and on.
As mentioned previously, you can also receive advertisements through those notifications like this one:
The famous native apps are:
Why should you care about Push Ads?
Every once in a while, a new source of advertising comes out that people do not yet realize is an advertisement. Do you remember ad banners? They used to have a Click-Through-Rate (CTR) of 70%. Now you're lucky to get 1%.
Because people got used to seeing banners on every website. No more excitement. People knew the banner was just an advertisement.
The same thing happened with Facebook Newsfeed ads, Google search ads, and so on.
Now, the latest advertising platform is Push Ads. Very few people know about it, but smart marketers and affiliates are taking full advantage of it.
If you are reading this post, consider yourself lucky because you are about to enter into a new advertisement era before many other people.

Apple allows Push Notifications through apps only and not browsers.

Chapter 3: Buy Push Ads (Traffic)
This chapter is dedicated to buying Push Ads from other websites to promote your messages/offers.
This is an advertisement chapter - it is like you buying traffic from Google, Facebook, Native,..etc.
Here I will show you how you can buy Push traffic to your website or to your offer if you are an affiliate marketer.
There are many traffic sources that provide Push Ads. The big players are:
- Wrap up everything you learn so far to ensure you have not missed any important step
- Do a test push to yourself as a website visitor
- Create your first Push Notification message
You can see a detailed review for all of them here .
Today, I will show you how to buy traffic from my personal favorite, which is Propeller Ads .
Before we start, I have tested various verticals and found the following ones the best so far; however, feel free to test for yourself:
I have been a fan of Propeller Ads for a couple of years. I've tried them in Pops, Push and Native ads. They are pretty awesome.
Let's get you started!
Choose Advertiser option
Go through a simple 2-step registration process
If you do not know about affiliate marketing yet, I strongly advise you to read this piece: How to start affiliate marketing without a websiteBased on your monthly amount spent, you will be assigned a user level. You can also get a personal account manager once you spend $5,000 monthly.
It is really handy to have direct contact with someone in case your ads do not get approved or if you want to know what is hot now!
Now, you need to add credit to your account.
Click on Balance on the top right. They accept the following options:
Mind the $100 minimum deposit.
How to create your first campaign at Propeller Ads.
Choose a campaign name and Push Notification option. Then, you will see on the right the number of notifications worldwide today. Over 2 billion notifications!
Also, you need to choose the price model.
CPM: Cost Per Mille - This is how much you pay for every 1,000 people who see your ad.
CPC: Cost Per Click - This is how much you pay every time someone clicks on your ad.
The other two options are not available for Push ads yet.
Enter your campaign/offer URL.
You can also pass dynamic tokens to get information about your audience. If you are using any tracker such as Voluum or FunnelFlux, you know what I am talking about.
Otherwise, here is what it means:
If you need more information about how to use the tokens, Propeller Ads explains this in detail in .
For Frequency / Capping, this means how many times the same user can see your ad in a time period specified by you.
I recommend to have it as least frequent as possible when you are starting out because you want to get as many eyeballs as you can to test your campaign. Later on, you can be more aggressive.
Also, read:
One time every 24-48 hours is a good start.
Add and upload your creative.
You should have some sense of urgency, like Limited offer for people in TX for this weekend, or Only available for the next 24 hours.
However, you can test various titles and images. As you can see, there is an option to add more creatives.
I would recommend starting with at least 3 different creatives.
The next option is your preference - it is about the traffic quality. I usually have higher success in Premium Only traffic. Therefore, I recommend you to start with the same.
The user activity option is available only if you choose the All Traffic option from the previous step.
This is based on what kind of users you are after. Do you want users with higher CTR? Or perhaps lower one but a high number of users?
This section is for your demographic target. Choose to include/exclude a country, city or state.
There is also a new option "Automatic Optimization," which is very useful if you are running CPA (Cost Per Action) offers.
- {zoneid} - ID of the ad zone where the ad is displayed
- {country} - User's country in two-letter code
- {os} - User's operating system
- {bannerid} - ID of the ad
You just need to turn it on and set the maximum CPA you want to pay per conversion. Otherwise, you can just disable it.
Set your daily and total budgets in USD
Audience if you have saved an audience previously and/or retargeting purposes .
Campaign Schedule is to set up start and end dates and times for your campaign.
The last option here is Targeting. This is where you can target specific browsers, OS and more.
That's it! Click Start Campaign and wait for them to review your campaign. Usually, the review takes 1-2 hours; however, sometimes it can take up to 24 hours.
