ESL Explorer’s office is always buzzing due to the flood of inquires each day by email and phone—often about our deals. So I thought I would take a moment to explain in great detail about our last minute deals program and why we reveal the schools names only after enrollment.
You get big discounts when a class has last-minute empty spots.
Similar to hotel and airline companies, schools also have ongoing dates that rely on client reservation. When those course start dates near, empty seats in the classroom mean a loss in potential revenue for the school. Schools will either run the course at a loss or worse, cancel the course altogether. This is not ideal for the school or the students who have already enrolled. So, ESL Explorer has worked with some of the top schools in London and Vancouver to develop Last Minute Deals. When you see websites like hotwire.com or come across “seat sales” for flights – this is what is happening. The destination and quality is the center of the promotion.
ESL Explorer only includes schools approved by national accrediting bodies such as the British Council, Languages Canada, ACCET, and NEAS, etc. Reviews and ratings left by other students are also featured for each deal, to help illustrate the overall quality of the institution.
Why we only reveal school name after registration:
1. We help schools maintain their regular prices. ESL Explorer Last Minute Deals are limited special deals, schools can’t always offer big discounts. Most schools we have talked to want to offer deep discounts but are worried about devaluing their courses. Many people may associate lower price with low quality and in this case, it is certainly not true. We have heard many students complain about the high prices they paid for sub-par education.
2. We want to continue bringing students more deals! Only ESL Explorer offers Last Minute Deals. To be fair to all schools and their global partners, we protect school names and do not ever pick favorites. Schools are unable to offer these empty seat discounts to each of their global partners. Due to visa policies and travel distances, they simply cannot offer a Last Minute Deal to students who require permits and have not yet traveled. It just doesn’t work with immediate start dates in respect to each school’s global partners. Because of ESL Explorer’s global online community of students, we can guarantee the right deals reach the right students in the right location for immediate intake.
This is also the reason why we currently only offer last minute deals in London and Vancouver. We make a concerted effort to work very closely with our Last Minute Deal schools to connect them instantly with students who are already abroad and do not require permit assistance. ESL Explorer has plans to expand last minute deals to most major international cities like Toronto, Dublin, Sydney, Melbourne, New York, Los Angeles and Boston very soon. Due to the need for instant and frequent communication when it comes to Last Minute Deals, we are taking the time to build quality school partnerships, and further roll out this program to new cities.
