there is no doubt about that. Nonetheless, themselves academically and who have performed well in school, we rely on the qualitative factors of the application to arrive at a decision while we are looking for students who have challenged. At this point into the process, high school seniors should focus their attention in the presentation components of the application: the essay, short answers, extracurricular activities, while the letter of recommendation.

The Essay

The essay is really a student’s opportunity to inform us who they really are, perhaps not only as a person but also as a pupil. The most successful essays will be the most authentic essays. We are certainly to know who our candidates are. The advice that is best I can provide to students is to ‘be yourself’.

Short Answers

They are called answers that are short buuuut they shouldn’t be too quick of a answer. The answers that are short taken very seriously within our review process. They give us insight that is valuable to a student’s academic interest too as their commitments outside of the classroom.

Extracurricular Strategies

We have been in search of pupils who are going to be active members of the USC community. I always suggest that students list any commitments they’ve outside of this classroom. Including clubs that are traditional recreations, volunteer organizations, work experience etc. But it also includes, non-traditional activities such as caring for siblings or other family users, productive hobbies like photography, marathon training or climbing Everest.

Letter of Recommendation

Pupils often feel they approach to write a letter of recommendation on their behalf like they do not have control over their letter of recommendations; yet, students do have control over whom. We need that at least one suggestion come from somebody who can touch upon the student’s academic character and potential (in other words. therapist or teacher).

Final Application Deadline Approaching

The holiday season is we call file review season in our office upon us which also coincides with what shmoop essay help services. The December 1 merit scholarship deadline has passed at USC, however there is still time for you to use by the January 10 application that is final for first-year applicants.

Visiting Campus over the Holiday Break? No problem!

I invested part of my Monday early morning at USC’s bookstore while our file review system was temporarily down. In the midst of choosing the exact size and item I took a moment to pause and look around—the bookstore was incredibly busy that I was looking to buy as a Christmas gift for a family member! I wondered that which was going on and realized that do not only are finals winding down this week, but pupils are getting ready to go back home for the vacation break and had been also doing some gift shopping that is last-minute. The bookstore was super crowded previously this week, but by this weekend, our campus are mostly empty as the University closes for vacation break from December 22 January 1.

Even though the admission office will not be staffed over the break, prospective students and families are welcome to visit campus and take their particular tour that is self-guided! We realize that many visitors want to tour USC on weekends and in other cases of year as soon as we don’t provide formal trips, thus we have produced the official USC Self-Guided Tour pamphlet for the college visit requirements! This resource follows the path that is same USC guides take on their tours also it carries a map and pictures of significant structures and locations on campus as helpful information. Along the way, you’ll begin to see the Campus Center that houses student offices and dining options, educational buildings, and libraries such as Doheny Memorial Library, the oldest research library on campus. Just like every trip led by our current students, the tour that is self-guided at the infamous statue of Tommy Trojan. Through the 12 months, it is possible to usually see students, alumni, and other guests pictures that are taking front of Tommy, so don’t be bashful to take one yourself!

Exactly What tour would be complete without supplying information regarding the areas around campus and things to do in l . a .? In the page that is final of brochure, various local museums, restaurants, sports venues, and shopping locations are highlighted in case campus visitors want to explore areas off campus, also.

You are sure to get a sense of what our beautiful campus and the city of LA have to offer whether you see USC on your own or led by a tour guide. Enjoy the holiday break!
