The Last but not Least Lola is a book series aimed at young girls ages 7-10 years.
The main character - Lola is also a school girl who has a big desire to be first at almost everything ahead of her class friends but usually ends up coming last. Lola seems to be the sort of character who promotes recycling and saving the planet and therefore it does provide encouragement for youngsters to do the same. Lola Zuckerman is always last but never gives up trying to behave and do her best. One of life's valuable lessons after all.
There are currently (I think) - four books in this series and we have three of them. The author is Christine Pakkala and illustrations throughout by Paul Hope.
