Verdict on Lanier
Recap
The movie follows a family who wins a prize for a weekend at a lake house holiday. However, they learn of a bigger secret happening in the area that causes bigger problems for the family and the people behind it.
Best Parts
There is a real-life mystery around the lake, which has a lot of historical tragedy. It keeps you wanting to know if there is more or not behind everything that is going on. The movie doesn’t hide any twists, giving us a clear message about what is planned throughout the vacation.
Worst Parts
The weaknesses come from having suspenseful moments that don’t work because we have already been told what is happening. It loses the mystery of who is behind the mask, only to use the who is behind the mask suspense concept. This doesn’t click, and we know there will be more to the showdown but nothing beforehand.
Final Thoughts –Lanier struggles to maintain the suspense.
