I know it's such a cliche to say but in all honestly, how is my little man seriously turning ONE tomorrow?! I'm so sad and happy all at the same time. We were actually really excited to celebrate his first birthday with family this past weekend. In all honesty, I wasn't even thinking of a party for him because of just being up in Chicago but Zach's parents and my incredible SIL's were amazing and actually planned everything FOR me. Am I lucky or what?!
We had the party at the farm that my in laws live on. I think Lily will adore her time out there this summer when we're gone on vacation for a week because she has so much room to run around. I loved being able to see all of Zach's family members including cousins we haven't seen in months, old high school and college friends of ours and just feel so much love for our little guy. The last time we had such a great fun birthday was actually for Lily's 1st birthday ( but we had a blast with our Atlanta friends for Lily's 2nd birthday too! )
My nephews birthday was back in October and because I didn't want to make a huge deal on the party, she offered to throw the same theme that they did! "Where The Wild Things Are" happens to be one of my favorite books as kid so it seemed like the perfect theme for our crazy little man, who gave us quit the wild year!
From crazy break outs, to new allergies, to crazy sicknesses and taking it all like a champ. He's such a calm, relaxed and sweet little boy. I'm trying to soak it all in before this little guy gets a little too wild in the next few years! You boy moms can relate I'm sure. Zach and I actually started laughing because there seemed to be more kids at our son's party this year since we were able to celebrate it with so many family members/cousins! I think Lily didn't even know what to do with herself!Hope you all had such a great weekend and I'm off to get things ready for our little guy's big day tomorrow! #DairyFreeEverything
