Plot: When sixteen year old Alice Palmer (Zucker) drowns while swimming the family get told it was an accidently death. Accepting the decision the family tries to get back to what would be called a normal life, but when strange events start happening around their house they call a psychic Ray Kemeny (Jodrell) who makes a discovery that Alice had been living a double life. All this is told in a series of interview flashbacks to make it feel like a documentary style ghost story.
Verdict: A mockumentary that falls flat
Story: I have heard a lot of good things about this film and even the DVD cover say scares a plenty. After watching it I found myself watching a twist on something I would watch on the discovery channel about a family who experience weird events after losing a family member. All the scares are told about happening leaving no surprises. Saying this it is a good look at how people might react to all the twists and turns that happen throughout the story. (6/10)
Actor Review: Rosie Traynor – June the mother of Alice, who tells the story of what she experiences after the daughter’s death. Produces a very real performance throughout. (7/10)
Actor Review: David Pledger – Russell the father who tells his experience of the story. Again another real performance rather than a ‘acted’ performance. (7/10)
Actor Review: Martin Sharpe – Martin The brother who tries to keep the legacy of his sister alive. Looks like the awkward teenager in the role well. (7/10)
Actor Review: Steve Jodrell – Ray psychic who helps the family both before and after Alice’s death. Comes off as a real psychic throughout. (7/10)
Actor Review: Talia Zucker – Alice The girl who dies but with flashbacks we learn about her secret life and the fear she started to feel before she dies. Good performance showing that it is actress not a real story. (7/10)
Director Review: Joel Anderson – For a mockumentary it is well directed. (7/10)
Horror: If you are expecting horror you will be let down. (5/10)
Special Effects: poor effects to create the ghost figures. (5/10)
Believability: It comes off very real apart from some of the ghost photos. (5/10)
Chances of Tears: No (0/10)
Settings: The settings are mixed but as it is all about mockumentary scenes but the setting offers nothing to the story. (3/10)
Suggestion: I think this is one that you should only watch when it is on late at night don’t go out your way to see it. (Late Night TV)
Best Part: The phone film.
