A couple of weeks ago, my friend Amy, and while attending an event together, simply asked me:” Who is in your opinion the best catering company in Lebanon?” A long silence haunted our table before I realised that I’ve been to hundreds of events, know dozens of caterers but in fact, who is indeed the best one or to say the finest ones in Lebanon?

My favourite and many as well are definitely Cat & Mouth, Faqra and Nicolas Audi which are known for their big weddings that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and their unique creativity.
Which one is good, fresh, professional, affordable and tasty at the same time?
Preparing for the baptism of my little one, we decided to invite the family to a brunch at Saint Louis church, Bab Edriss Beirut. My wife and I believe in a company, or a pasty shop to be more precise, considering it to be among the Top5 in Lebanon. We called La Mie Doree, and asked for its services to cater the event.
Two managers, two chefs and four waiters accompanying a super tasty food made of our event a success.

On the menu this morning:
LES BOISSONS

- Œufs : brouillés et durs, bacon, saumon fumé
- Crêpes salées : Jambon, emmenthal
- Saj : manakiches au thym et au fromage
LES MINI SANDWICHES
- Navettes Brie, raisin
- Briochines au Thon
SUR LE BUFFET
- Bœuf wellington farci de champignons
- Kassler sur salade de pommes de terre tiède
- Bruschettas et roulades au thym : Labné, tapenade d’olives
- Plateau de fromages aux fruits secs: cheddar, emmenthal, chèvre entier
- Salade d’herbes au halloumi et pignons: thym vert, oregano, roquette, moutarde verte, Pourpier
- Plaque de tarte fine aux 3 tomates, feta, oregano
- Tarte Alsacienne
- Muesli aux fruits, yaourt
- Panier de pains variés : fougasses au thym, mini faluches nature, p.p aux olives, p.p aux noix
LES DESSERTS
- Le gâteau à 3 étages
- Feuilletés en bandes : fraises/crème double, coulis de fraises – façon Bruno
- Mini crêpes au chocolat
- Bonbons glacés : Chocolat, vanille, praliné
- Panier de mini viennoiseries : croissants nature, donuts
- Pains tressés mini, Brioches à la cannelle
- Kouglof

On a hot and sunny spring day, where the sun was showering us with its spells, we enjoyed sumptuous food. All I did is walk around to take pictures, and I could hear the guests talking out loud about the decoration, quality, freshness and taste. I heard the expression “yumm” and “mmmm” more than once.
The buffet had four different sections: the drinks area, the main buffet, two chefs cooking eggs and crepes and the Saj area. What caught my attention are the two huge glass bottles of fresh squeezed juice cocktails which fitted perfectly the occasion and weather.
Getting back to Amy’s question, which I found an answer, La Mie Doree is a good choice to cater your events.

To celebrate, a three stories cake was waiting to be cut. Three stories of a cake having the same taste and quality La Mie Doree always provides and that I detailed in my last article about them. Chocolate and Succès cakes amazed everyone.

This review might not be a restaurant and not a food review but after enjoying so much their service and professionalism, I couldn’t but state some facts, letting everyone know that their is still a good quality of food in this country even though the trends are going for the cheap low quality franchises serving a larger mass of prepared items at low prices.
I’ll be waiting to try more of their creations at any of Lebanon’s finest gatherings. Meanwhile, i’ll stick at enjoying those mouthwatering pictures.
