Kuuki’s Top 10 Anime of 2014

Posted on the 26 December 2014 by Kaminomi @OrganizationASG

My, what a year it has been. So many anime, so little time. So much work, so little time. So many stupid decisions that turned out to be the best I ever made. So much troubles too. I can’t believe the pile of troubles I got. (Hence the stupid decisions.)

But oh yeah, the year is nearly finished and 2015 will bring a lot of new things. New anime, new work (hopefully), new home (probably), new (huge) challenges (spanning from the stupid decisions). Now is not a time to reflect on the next year though, now is the time to go back on what anime I loved in 2014.

Without further ado, my very own top 10 of 2014!

10. Haikyuu!

I don’t like volleyball. Yet, I loved Haikyuu! What is this madness? This madness is simple, the story is nothing special but the characters are awesome and the anime was entertaining. So why not?

9. Free!! Eternal Summer

To this day I still don’t know what I really think about sport anime but Free!! is special. First because it was awful to fangirl by myself and second because it was pretty. And no I didn’t mean just the boys. No matter what you may think, KyoAni is good at doing anime with cute people doing cute things.

8. SoniAni

Don’t kill me! This anime was absolutely amazing. In the so stupid it’s amazing sense of the word. In all seriousness though, SoniAni turned out to be my huge dark horse turned favorite of the year. I can’t really explain, it’s just that it was fun to see Sonico’s adventures. If I may say something to convince you you need to watch it: it has a zombie episode. Yup.

7. D-Frag

I’m a darkness type, of course I’d love this.

6. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

Cute, fun and a very entertaining parody of shoujo stereotypes.

5. Wooser no Sono Higurashi S2

Do I really need to talk about Wooser? Wooser is cute. Wooser is nice. Wooser is also really adult for an anime about a mascot. It’s entertaining.

4. No Game No Life

An anime about smart people who love playing games is obviously something I would like. Not only was the story really interesting (though now I need another season), it was mostly the characters that were just perfect.

3. Silver Spoon S2

It’s technically the second season but there is no way I will ever tire of seeing someone from the city getting used to the countryside, it’s just too entertaining. Also, Silver Spoon has a lot of truth in it. It’s actually endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture in France, just so you know.

2. Noragami

I am so curious about Yato you have no idea. Yato is really interesting. Another anime that’s really adult in some way and yet Yato makes it really childish. I liked the contrast.

1. Barakamon

I wrote an entire post about Barakamon. I loved the peace that came from this anime and I strongly urge you to watch it.

Well, I guess there’s absolutely no pattern in what I like. My tastes are all over the place. Again.
