Kristin Bauer Van Straten Talks About Pam’s Lost Anchors

Posted on the 24 June 2014 by Tbfansource @tbfansource

When we all first learned that Tara (Rutina Wesley) had died during the attack on Bon Temps, a lot of the same questions kept popping up. Chief among them was how will Pam feel given that she’s not there? But when we didn’t see Pam react to Tara’s death, fans were confused. Was this some sort of oversight on the part of the writers? But as Kristin Bauer van Straten told Zap2it, Tara’s death will impact the fan favorite vampire:

“I think that it informs a lot of Pam the rest of her season. “She already chose to go look for Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) over staying with her progeny at the end of last season, but she didn’t imagine that she would die. But she did abandon her, and I think that only ups the stakes for Pam, because now she really has to find Eric, she has no one else left.”

Having a missing maker and a deceased progeny is an interesting dilemma. Kristin told TV Line is a second interview that she had to ask herself what happens to Pam without Tara and Eric:

“Who is gonna anchor [Pam in Bon Temps] if Tara and Eric are both gone?”

Pam doesn’t hold a lot of people close. And although she had her ups and downs with Tara, Kristin reveals that Pam does hold Tara close:

“We’ve only seen two people in seven years that matter to Pam, and Tara became one of them.”
