Kristin Bauer van Straten’s True Blood character, Pam was on a quest to find her maker, Eric since the end of Season 6, and at the end of Season 7 episode 2 she finally found him. However, it appears that Eric has contracted the dreaded vampire disease, “Hep V,” so we wonder how Pam will be able to cope with the possibility of forever losing him.
There was a lot of curiosity around Eric’s absence from the “True Blood” Season 7 premiere, and the payoff for that curiosity is quite tragic. Pam finally found her maker in June 29′s “I Found You,” and it turns out that he is one of many vampires infected with Hep-V.
The “how” behind his infection hasn’t been revealed, but from the look on Pam’s face in the final moments of the episode, it’s clear she’s not taking the bad news of his fatal illness well.
According to star Kristin Bauer van Straten, Eric is the one person Pam can’t live without.
“I don’t think she ever can. I don’t think she really can picture her life without him,” Bauer van Straten tells Zap2it.
She explains, “A lot of us have lost people, and some people you can’t imagine going forward without them. You do, and you find a way — most of us — but there’s no way Pam can. He’s a father figure plus more, and he has always been there, and he’s her rock and he’s the center of her world. Really, everything else — money, what have you — is not even up there with that relationship.”
Thus far there has been no cure for Hep-V, and Jessica similarly seems like something is causing her to be unhealthy. Hopefully these storylines don’t end with their deaths, though Bauer van Straten also tells us that happy endings are relative on “True Blood.”
