Kosinski, Cruise, Kurylenko, Freeman - Oblivion - film reviewwhat is wrong with Film Critics?
They were a right angry bunch when they came to deliver their verdict on the Cruise/Kosinski feature Oblivion.
This reviewer found NOTHING WRONG with it.
The visuals were top notch.
The characters were top notch.
The story turned out to be top notch.
I mean, yeah, it was fun(ny) when the Prometheus waterfall in Iceland turned up in the center of ruined New York, but I only know this because I'm a tediously boring film buff. A fan of sci-fi expanse, visual splendour and take-your-brains-out joy rides. And Oblivion fit that bill, it was a totally acceptable attempt at earnest story telling. I loved the design of those drones, the spheres that are like just totally ruthless and can kill/fly in both directions at once. Proper hardcore.
Man, film critics are just a bunch of miserable bastards, some times. Go pay to watch a film every now and then, might help.
