Koh Samui Hotels

By Harvie

Koh Samui is one of the most famous islands in Thailand. It boasts of white sandy beaches and wild and loud parties at night. If you are planning to stay in the island for a holiday, there are several Koh Samui hotels to choose from. Here are some hotels that I recommend which offers the best value, impeccable service from their staff and accessibility.

This is a post written by Erika who lives on the island.

Banyan Tree Samui – Location Lamai

This luxurious Koh Samui hotel boasts of breathtaking views. Your villa will take you to another world just by looking outside the amazing seascape. The environment is perfect for honeymooners and those who seek peace and tranquility. However, it is not strategically located to those who would want to have a taste of the local Samui nightlife.

It is only a couple of minutes away from Lava Lounge and Rock bar, if you want to drink out and meet other people. If you are planning to get a good back rub, there are also a couple of massage and spa salons just along the street as well as convenience and fast food chains. But you wouldn’t have to bother going out as well since the Banyan Tree Samui offers lots of activities from water sports to recreation facilities.

Villas start from around £450.00 a night per two persons.

The Tongsai Bay Hotel – Location Choengmon

The Tongsai Bay is one of the best hotels in Koh Samui. The view is very spectacular as well as the service and food. This Koh Samui hotel is a definite 5-star level which includes facilities that is quite common with most luxury hotels and resorts have to offer.

Nothing quite out of the ordinary but their service is impeccable. It is just about half an hour walk to Wat Nuan Naram and Big Buddha. It is just a taxi away from Lamai Walking Street which is famous for its various commercial facilities such as bars, malls, and restaurants.

Beachfront suite would start from £154.00 for two people.

Buri Rasa Village Hotel – Location Chaweng

This Koh Samui hotel is strategically located near shopping malls and the famous Samui nightlife. The Buri Rasa Village Hotel has a classic Thai design. It has a good value for money because it provides 5-star facilities for the price of a 4-star hotel/ resort.

The staff was very friendly and can actually make you feel welcome as if you are family because of their warm hospitality. The environment and area depicts of a normal Thai flora and fauna. It has its pros and cons, though, but that depends on how you see it. In the morning, you will be greeted by birds’ chirping and their hefty breakfast is something to get you going for the day.

However, during the night time, since it is near bars and clubs, you can hear loud music. If you are a partygoer, this is something of an advantage. But if you are looking for a more relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, this is not one of their strongest point. Room rate starts at £114.00 for two persons.

W Retreat Koh Samui Hotel – Location Mae Nam

W hotel Koh Samui, as often called, boasts of modern and stylish design which caters to the young and old. If you are looking for a night out, there is no need to go out because they bring the party right inside the resort. The Woobar has an astonishing DJ booth which brings pool party to a different level. There are 2 boutique bars as well namely SIP bar and Tonic Bar.

Great news for our furry friends, pets are allowed inside the hotel. Room rate starts at £479.00 per night for two people. This is one Koh Samui hotel that is definitely worth your stay.

Six Senses Samui – Location Choengmon

The Six Senses Samui will excite all of your senses! I was blown away with what this hotel can offer. They have kept a very clean environment and the staff was very friendly. If you choose to go Dining on the Rock, make sure to ask full details so you can get best seating and be able to dine romantically underneath the stars. The place was tranquil and relaxing so if you are thinking of releasing stress, you can also opt to practice yoga or try their in-house spa.

This is perfect for honeymooners or for couples who are looking to spend their holiday in a secluded place. The downside is that if you are someone who is looking for a night out, you might have to take a taxi down to Koh Samui’s world famous Lamai walking street. Nearby attractions from the hotel includes Samui Crocodile Farm and Big Buddha.

In this lavish Koh Samui hotel, the price of villa starts at £185.00 per two persons.

The Library Hotel – Location Chaweng

The Library Hotel is one of Koh Samui hotels located in the most famous beach of Chaweng. This means that events and social happenings are within the vicinity. The hotel is minimalist in design, which I particularly like as it is hip, modern yet classy and not much intricacy.

The facilities are just like any other, hotel staffs were amazing and service is a value for your money. The hotel also has their own sports and recreation facilities to keep their guests entertained. Since that this is located near bars and clubs, it could get loud until wee hours in the morning.

This is particularly a good choice for young couples or group of young people to stay in when going on a holiday since it is just a stones’ throw away from nightclubs and bars. Room rates starts at £203.00 per night for two people.
