Kobe Bryant Enjoys His First Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Kobe Bryant has gone from the locker room to the clubhouse.

The retired NBA player who is a first time Oscar nominee was on hand for the nominees’ luncheon (also known as the clubhouse) that went down on Monday at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.

And it sounds like everyone in attendance from Mary J. Blige to Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya enjoyed themselves, the stars were taking selfies with their favorite stars, and lots of side chats were happening in the high energy room.

But, the nominee who seemed to enjoy themselves the most was newcomer to the club, Kobe Bryant.

Nominated for his contributions to the animated short “Dear Basketball,” Bryant smiled throughout the event, practically skipping his meal to pose for photos with his many fans in the room, including fellow nominees Allison Janney and “Logan” screenwriter James Mangold.

Bryant said being in the Oscar mix is “better than all those championships put together.”

“I don’t know what’s going on!” Kobe said, practically giggling. “I love this.”
