Thoughts on Know Fear
Characters & Performances – Wendy is the teacher that finds herself becoming possessed, she first starts acting strange before coming for her family and friends. Jami is the niece who has been hunting the paranormal for years with her web series, she starts to try and figure out what is happening in the house, as she looks to lead the attack o free her aunt. Donald is the husband that is trying to build a bonding with Charlie after they take the niece and nephew in, with Charlie being the nephew that doesn’t want too much to do with the new uncle. In these four characters, we get the four performances, which for the main part of solid enough for horror, as we see them needing to deal with the horrors through the film.
Story – The story here follows a woman that gets possessed in her new home, leading to the rest of her family needing to fight back against the demon that has taken over her body before they become victims of the evil actions. This is a story that runs into the possession world, with one family having to put aside their differences to figure out how to keep themselves together. The idea that the demon comes from the unknown and we end up having a paranormal amateur in the house does show us how thinking you know best isn’t the best idea. Everything does feel like it will unfold in the way you would imagine without getting too intense.
Themes – Know Fear is a horror film that will include the possession based ideas, which will mix with the haunted house, as the demon using the home to get under the skin of everyone. We might not get the best use of special effects, with most of the moments being left to our imagination.
Know Fear is an easy to watch possession based horror that will get the scares along the way.
