The events of the movie see the four strangers sacrifice themselves one by one after the family refuse to give in to their request. After the first one Redmond is sacrificed, and a giant tidal wave hits the American coast. This is shaken off as pure coincidence even if Eric starts to sense some truth in it.

Secondly, Ardiane takes her spot and we see a news report on a sudden virus spreading. This one is the hardest to believe because no way would this happen so quickly in three random locations. It feels near impossible for a news story to cover a rising outbreak involving hospitals happening in a matter of hours. This adds plenty of doubt to the stranger’s stories.

Third, Sabrina is killed after being shot, before taking her spot. In the aftermath of her death, planes start falling from the skies. It creates a bigger story or maybe it could be real once again.

Finally, Leonard gives the final warning that it needs to happen before sacrificing himself. This leaves Eric and Andrew to discuss what is happening, as lightning strikes are happening around the world.

After the Four strangers are dead

In this discussion, Eric starts to confirm he has seen what is happening and believes everything has become clear. He begs Andrew to kill him, because he has seen Andrew and Wen live a normal happy life, without him. Eric believes the strangers are the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Leonard a teacher for guidance, Sabrina a nurse for healing, Adriane a cook for nurture and Redmon Malice.

After Andrew has killed Eric, he walks away with Wen, watching the cabin slowly burn to the ground. When they find a car, they make their way to a local diner to see the apocalyptic event starting to stop. When they return to the car, the learn about the four horsemen and see they had normal lives before everything that happens. They drive off back to the city to continue their own lives together.
