Klimt was one of the crown kings of Vienna’s Secession period in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. He is the Austrian answer to Lautrec, with portraits of more refined and monied women, yet mythological in his execution and perception. He wore long robes, loved cats and fathered a lot of illegitimate children. A brilliant talent, and a tortured artist.
