The GMA Dove Awards are celebrating their 50 anniversary on Tuesday, Oct. 15th, and Gospel and Christian artists are sharing some of their most memorable moments from past shows with Billboard.

Here is a look at some of the moments that stood out:

Kirk Franklin: “It’s too hard to pick one moment, but my favorite thing about the Dove Awards is seeing my brothers and sisters from different walks of life, different ethnicities all together in one room, celebrating the love of our Father.”

Amy Grant: “Andraé Crouch was being honored and it was the last event of the show. It started off with Michael W. [Smith] and Clay Crosse joined him and BeBe Winans. They went and pulled Andraé out of the crowd and Andraé took that and launched it into this experience. It was like the spirit fell and nobody wanted it to stop.”

TobyMac: “Kirk Franklin’s ‘Happy’ in 2015 and Lecrae’s ‘Hallelujah’ and Tedashii’s ‘Dum Dum’ in 2012. I will always remember Kirk Franklin and crews doing ‘Wanna Be Happy’ because of the soulfulness and passion of the performance and the joy that entered the arena that night. It was unforgettable! Lecrae and Tedashii always bring it, but I remember that they invited everybody to the party that night at the Doves. Flexing our diversity when it comes to music genres, I love it!”

The awards show will be held ‘live’ on October 15 in Nashville, Tennessee and will air exclusively on TBN October 20 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.
