King Mohammed VI - Algeria AFCON 2019

His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to Mr Abdelkader Bensalah, Head of State of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, following the victory of the Algerian national football team in the final of the African Cup of Nations (Egypt 2019).

Here is the complete translation of the royal message to Algeria after their victory in the AFCON 2019 Final:

“Assalamou Alaikoum Wa Rahmatoullahi Taala Wa Barakatoho,

I am pleased to express to the brotherly Algerian people, on the occasion of the well-deserved victory of their national football team in the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations, whose final phases were hosted by sister Egypt, the warmest congratulations for this continental football achievement, and to the entire Algerian football scene.

On this historic occasion, it is a pleasure for Me to share, in My own name and on behalf of the entire Moroccan people, the feelings of pride in this deserved achievement with the brotherly Algerian people, especially since it is the victory of a neighbouring and brotherly Maghreb country whose consecration is that of Morocco.

Following this great sporting distinction, I can only express to the brotherly Algerian people, and through them to all the components of their national selection – players, technical, medical and administrative staff – the sincere expressions of esteem and consideration for this high-level technical performance and the high competitive spirit that this ambitious team has shown throughout the matches of this distinguished African championship”.
