#Motivation Kimberly Chandler is in the midst of writing her first book.
Kimberly Chandler, the wife of NBA player Tyson Chandler is sharing how after ignoring the calling, the Holy Spirit showed up one night, and moved on her to get to writing her 1st book.
” The Holy Spirit woke me right up and whispered a scripture to me and placed an urgency in the pit of my stomach,” Kimberly wrote on Instagram.
“I sat with this feeling for some time, ignoring the calling, being disobedient really until one evening, in the midst of watching t.v. with my lover, God got me right up and I silently without a word to Ty, left to another room in order to put pen to paper that very night.”
Over a year ago I was approached to write a book. As flattered and humbled as I was, I definitely was taken aback and hesitant to do so because though I have always been filled with an abundance of words and in-love with the written word, I didn’t believe that I had a book in me to gift to the world. Then one night, as I slumbered in my bed, the Holy Spirit woke me right up and whispered a scripture to me and placed an urgency in the pit of my stomach. From that very second onward, it was like a sense of anxiety had overtaken me but not in a negative sense. Imagine if anxiety felt good and light and came from a positive place. Like a wild sense of anticipation. I sat with this feeling for some time, ignoring the calling, being disobedient really🤦♀️ until one evening, in the midst of watching t.v. with my lover, God got me right up and I silently without a word to Ty, left to another room in order to put pen to paper that very night. This crazy picture; with my hat hair, ugly lounge ware, pad on my neck because I had recently gotten into a bad car accident, is a memory I’ll always have to mark the beginning of what has been a remarkable start to my writing journey. My husband took it. He’s a lover of memories captured in its stillness by photographs and he has an eye for catching momentous occasions so that an exact second can be remembered forever. As I glanced at him with my happy smile, I asked what are you doing…I look insane. He said, “taking a picture of the moment you decided to write your first book so you can look back and remember it forever.” This forever moment was taken on September 15, 2016 and today I officially signed on with a legendary publishing house to publish my very first book. A book I know is Holy Spirit breathed and one that has changed my life in the midst of writing it. I’m so grateful and blessed that such a special and discerning person had a vision for me to write a book and I can’t wait to share with the world in due time. Now I gotta get back to writing cause this book ain’t gonna finish itself
