Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) and senior Korean People’s Army [KPA] officials visited Ku’msusan Memorial Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang at midnight on December 17 (Thursday), the fourth anniversary of the demise of his father DPRK leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il). In attendance with him were VMar Hwang Pyong So (Director of the KPA General Political Department), Gen. Pak Yong Sik (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), Gen. Ri Yong Gil (Chief of the KPA General Staff), Gen. Kim Won Hong (Minister of State Security), Col. Gen. So Hong Chan, Lt. Gen. Jo Nam Jin (deputy director of the KPA General Political Department/head of the KPA General Organization Department) Lt. Gen. Ryom Chol Song (deputy director of the KPA General Political Department/head of the KPA General Propaganda Department) and other members of the KPA’s high command.

A KPA honor guard delivered floral baskets and Jong Un with other members of the KPA high command bowed in front of statues of Kim Jong Il and late DPRK President and founder Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng). Jong Un and the senior KPA officials then visited a chamber containing KJI’s preserved remains and “paid respectful homage” to KJI. After this, they looked through exhibition halls showing KJI’s personal S-class Mercedes Benz, his electric mobility cart, his exclusive railway coach and boat and a room containing various state titles, awards and commendations that KJI accumulated during his career.
