DPRK state media reported on 20 November (Wednesday) that Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) visited the construction of the Kim Jong Il Military Graduate School at Kim Il Sung Military University in Pyongyang. Attending the visit were VMar Choe Ryong Hae (Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department), Gen. Jang Jong Nam (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), Hwang Pyong So (Deputy [vice] Director of the Korean Workers’ Party [KWP] Organization Guidance Department) and Ma Won Chun (Deputy [vice] Director of the KWP Finance and Accounting Department). Kim Jong Un’s last observed appearance was his visit to KPA Foodstuffs Factory #354.
Kim Jong Un toured the graduate school’s campus, training grounds and assembly hall and gave instructions on completing construction. According to KCNA, he said “that it is of weighty importance to build the graduate school, a center for training dependable military personnel of the party, at the university which was founded and has developed under the energetic leadership and loving care of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and Kim Jong Il((Kim Cho’ng-il)” and “underscored the need to provide all educational facilities of the graduate school and environment for education at the best level as required by the nature of Kim Il Sung Military University, a world-famous university with a long history and prestige.” Kim Jong Un also stressed the “need to build not only educational facilities but also football field, basketball court, volleyball court, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and indoor shooting gallery in such a manner as to be impeccable in the distant future” and “indicated tasks and ways to do so.”
