Kim Jong Un’s first stop was to the 2 November Factory’s historical exhibition where he “looked back with deep emotion on the history of the factory developed under the deep care of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu who spared nothing for the service personnel.”  He also toured a new production facility at the factory, constructed by KPA Unit #534 after he gave “an instruction to the factory to build a modern snack production process to provide service personnel with tasty and nutritious snacks on a regular basis.”  According to KCNA, KPA Unit #534 “built a production building with a large capacity as required by the new century in a short span of time” and Kim Jong Un “was very pleased with the construction of the new modern snack production process, noting it has become possible to realize the desire of the President and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il), who made so much effort in their lifetime to solve the issue of food for the service personnel.”

Kim Jong Un toured production shops in the factory and “gave precious instructions to be implemented by the factory for its operation and management.”  Whilst touring the control room, he “called for thoroughly establishing modern monitoring, control and command systems to put the production processes on the computer basis.”  He said that “it is the determination of the WPK to supply tasty and nutritious snacks and foodstuffs to service personnel on a regular basis” and underlined “the need to boost production and improve the quality of products on the basis of the expanded production capacity of the factory.”  According to KCNA, Kim Jong Un expressed “the belief that the workers of the factory would successfully carry out their honorable duties” and he “set the goals to be attained by the factory in different phases.”
