When news first broke that Kim Burrell called homosexuals “perverts” in her sermon, folks immediately wanted to know if Ellen Degeneres would cancel her scheduled appearance on her show. Burrell was scheduled to appear this Thursday (Jan. 5th) to perform the lead song from the Hidden Figures Soundtrack. Well, today we all got our answer.
Ellen DeGeneres confirmed this afternoon, tweeting, “For those asking, Kim Burrell will not be appearing on my show.”
The singer was scheduled to perform “I See A Victory” from the Hidden Figures soundtrack alongside Pharrell Williams who wrote the song. It’s been reported that Pharrell will now perform alone.
