Plot: When oil is discovered in 1920s Oklahoma under Osage Nation land, the Osage people are murdered one by one – until the FBI steps in to unravel the mystery.

Story: Killers of the Flower Moon starts when soldier Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) returns from war. His Uncle William Hale (De Niro) sets him up with a job around the Osage town. Ernest starts chauffeuring Mollie (Gladstone) around the town, starting to fall for her. However, William wants Ernest to marry Mollie to give the family a legal right to the discovered oil money.
Once Ernest and Mollie get married, Ernest starts to learn more about the battle for the land. After Mollie’s sister is killed, it becomes clearer that something more than meets the eye is going on. Ernest finds himself in the middle of his Uncle’s greed and his wife’s determination to uncover the truth.
Verdict on Killers of the Flower Moon
Killers of the Flower Moon is a drama following a war veteran draw into the middle of a battle between his greedy uncle’s criminal ways and his wife’s people being butchered. It follows him to get into the criminal life, before starting to see the lines causing problems in his life. However, once the FBI arrive, their lives become a bigger problem.
This is the latest Martin Scorsese gangster movie following the events in a small town. It follows the greedy white men who took over an Osage town, killing anyone who gets in their way. This is an extremely long movie and it feels long. It only picks up once the FBI arrive in the story, as it shows something happening about the murders.
While the performances are strong, it is the story that is too long to enjoy in one sitting. There is an important message about the behavior and treatment of the Osage people. However, this will end up becoming one of the more forgettable movies from Scorsese.
Final Thoughts –Killers of the Flower Moon is overly long and takes way too long to get going.
