KidLinks Announces "Global Fare" Theme for the 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs

On Wednesday, November 15, KidLinks hosted a kick-off party to launch the 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs event at the estate of Honorary Chair Faye C. Briggs. Guests enjoyed an inspired menu created by Honorary Chef Emeritus, Salvatore Gisellu, Executive Chef of Urban Crust, which included delicious pizza created on-site from a mobile wood-burning pizza oven and a tequila tasting from Tequila Sheela served by founders Sheela Marshall and Natalie Merrick. Good Morning Texas Co-Host Jane McGarry served as emcee for the evening and thanked Symphony of Chefs Founding Event Chairs, Bonnie & Nathan Shea, for underwriting the evening’s Italian-inspired fare from Urban Crust. 2018 Event Co-Chairs Georgia & Marc Lyons and Vinette & Mike Montgomery were introduced and announced a theme of “global fare” for the 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs event, which will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Sixty Five Hundred.
KidLinks CEO, Diana Crawford, spoke passionately about the importance of music to the health of children and KidLinks work to provide healing experiences for the special needs of children through performing arts and media, funded therapeutic music initiatives, university-level Music Therapy training and free/low cost professional Music Therapy for children in need. Through KidLinks online platform, Hugworks Children’s Network, and partnerships at Cook’s Children’s and Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System, KidLinks is linking kids to health and healing through music and media. Hamilton A Sneed of HAS Events will produce the 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs evening, which will begin with a hors d’oeuvres reception featuring Rising Star Chefs, followed by a seated 4-course dinner prepared table-side by Featured Dinner Chefs and concluding with a decadent dessert reception by a group of incredible Pastry Chefs led by Honorary Chef Chair, Tiffany Derry of The Cupboard by Tiffany Derry. Each course of the evening is paired with wine and/or a specialty cocktail. Additional highlights of the evening to include live musical entertainment and a lively live auction of chef & dining experiences. Special thanks to Team Kudo who donated the evening’s staffing, from bartenders to servers, and to ROXOR Artisan Gin, SweetBeat Vodka, JR Ewing Bourbon Whiskey and Sheela Tequila for providing spirits for the kickoff party.
