Key-Systems Celebrates 15th Birthday

In A press release today Key-Systems is celebrating its 15 Birthday

Key-Systems, which currently manages more than 3 million web addresses (domains) for more than 70,000 retail/corporate customers and 1,800 resellers worldwide, celebrates its 15th company anniversary in October.

Since its foundation in 1998 the Key-Systems GmbH has emerged as one of the leading European companies for the distribution and management of domains and ranks among the 15 largest providers for web addresses with generic extensions such as .COM and .NET (gTLDs) worldwide.

Key-Systems’ business areas include the retail customer portal domaindiscount24.com, the reseller portal RRPproxy.net and the corporate domain service BrandShelter.com.

Key-Systems employs 70 employees at the German headquarters and the U.S. subsidiary.

Together with NameDrive, Moniker and SnapNames, Key-Systems is member of the Luxembourg KeyDrive Holding S.A. As part of  a birthday raffle via its Facebook and Google+ fan pages Key-Systems gives away overnight stays to a 4.5-star hotel on the Baltic Sea (Germany) sponsored by TUI AG and a Nexus 7 as main prices as well as 50 more little surprises.

Since 2005 the Key-Systems GmbH regularly appears on the statistic portal webhosting.info among the top 15 of the largest and fastest growing ICANN registrars worldwide (according to the number of managed gTLD domain names). In addition, Key-Systems has been awarded four times with the “Deloitte Fast 50 Technology Award” as one of the top 10 fastest growing technology companies in Germany in recent years.

While studying Siffrin founded 1998 the Key-Systems GbR located in Friedrichsthal, Germany, which passed into the Key-Systems GmbH and received its accreditation as a domain provider from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in 2000. The end customer portal domaindiscount24.com also started in the year 2000, followed by the reseller portal RRPproxy.net in 2001 and the corporate domain portal BrandShelter.com in 2009. In this year, the US subsidiary, Key-Systems USA, Inc., based in Leesburg, Virginia, with Bonnie Wittenburg as Executive Vice President was founded. Further, Key-Systems was founding member of the “dotSaarland e.V.”, an association to support the application for the new top level domain .SAARLAND.
